Service and Dedication to Excellence
Wilderness Heliskiing is all about second-to-none service, and no crowds. On a busy day we guide about 20 people spread over 800 square kilometres. That's about 1 person per 202 miles...
Small groups tailored to ability
Our helicopter loads are a maximum 4 or 5 guests plus guide (depending on the helicopter). You can ski or board with your friends, or join a group of similar ability. We ask everyone to rate their ability, and your guide will carefully select runs to ensure sure nobody gets out of their depth.
The search for Quality Snow
With runs facing all aspects, and a maritime climate, snow quality will vary - even over the length of a run.
Every day and every landing our guides record the snowpack's characteristics. We log extra helicopter miles to ensure you get the best untracked terrain available.

Your Safety
Our biggest consideration is your safety and well-being during your time with us.
Every day your guides analyse the snowpack and weather. Slope assessments are conducted prior to starting every run.
NZ Avalanche Advisory
Alpine Guides' provides daily reports for the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council's Avalanche.net service for the Aoraki/Mount Cook Region.
Lunch at altitude

It's hard to top a gourmet picnic lunch on top of a mountain, with in-your-face views of the Southern Alps...
